지난해 금감원은 소액결제 현금화 등 불법금융광고를 방송통신심의위원회에 신청해 사이트 폐쇄와 게시글 삭제, 계정 중지 등을 확정했지만 ‘언론 보도에는 대응하지 않았다. 금감원 직원은 “언론의 보도는 광고로 규정할 수는 없어 보여서 판단쉽지 않은 면이 있을 것입니다”고 하였다.

이은희 인하대 구매자학과 교수는 “구글 동일한 글로벌 오프라인 사업자도 수입에만 신경쓰지, 문제가 생성했을 때 무난한 대처를 하지 않는 경우가 대부분이다”면서 “구글 소액결제 케이스가 불어나고 있습니다면 구글이 가장 먼저 할 일은 이런 일이 또 생성하지 않게 조치를 취하는 것”이라고 말했다.
